Molecat Basics
What makes MOLECAT so different?
MOLECAT is a technically advanced patent-pending pest control device that kills burrowing pests when they return to their opened exit hole. This is accomplished by using a controlled blast of hot plasma which is directed onto the pest – rarely missing the intended target. The combined burst of hot plasmic gases, loud noise and abrupt air movement creates a shockwave that kills on contact – making the unit a quick and humane way to exterminate burrowing pests.
What are the benefits of MOLECAT over other forms of pest control?
MOLECAT features include: Do-it-yourself convenience, easy set-up, no destructive digging, it is reloadable and re-useable, a guaranteed extermination, and MOLECAT involves no chemicals which injure or kill pets. MOLECAT is an effective tool in maintaining your landscape. The muffled pop sound MOLECAT makes when it fires will be music to your ears.
MOLECAT costs more than some other forms of pest control. What sets your product apart from them, and delivers the extra value?
You are purchasing a state-of-the-art powder activated, patent-pending garden tool designed to kill moles, gophers and other burrowing varmints on contact.
Comparing MOLECAT to other products is like comparing a typewriter to a personal computer. The typewriter gets the job done, but the PC gets it done now! Likewise, MOLECAT doesn’t mess around – when the burrowing pest sets off the trigger, the explosion created effectively takes care of the problem. MOLECAT’s unique action and its advanced design and construction are patent-pending. Its reloadable and re-useable design allows you use it over and over. Extensive testing has proven that by using it as directed it delivers consistent, effective results. MOLECAT is simply the best product on the market.
When considering the costs associated with the damage a burrowing pest can cause, the expense of hiring professional exterminator, and the potential harm of chemicals, the value MOLECAT delivers makes it a real bargain.

instruction video on this web site.
Do I have to do heavy digging when using MOLECAT?
No. One of the benefits of MOLECAT is that no shovel is required to prepare the opening and install. Simply use a tablespoon or small trowel to open the exit hole, and then place MOLECAT trigger into the cleared opening.
Molecat Safety
How safe is MOLECAT?
Any trap has a degree of danger. The recommended methods of caution and our safety tips must be followed when using the MOLECAT to benefit from its built-in safety features. Its unique, advanced patent-pending design includes two safeties which prevent accidental mishap. You disengage them only after anchoring the MOLECAT into the exit hole.
How do the safety features work?
With two built-in firing safeties it is designed for maximum protection when handling. The Safety Ring is the first safety which blocks the Trigger Wire and controls the triggering mechanism. The second safety is the Knob which controls the Hammer and prevents it from striking the blank shell.
Using Your Molecat
Is MOLECAT easy to use?
Yes. MOLECAT is designed to be safe, reliable and easy to set. It takes about 20 seconds to arm and set. There are several techniques for placing MOLECAT into the run (exit hole) and they are explained in the ‘Tips’ in the pdf ‘Care of Unit’ instructions on this website.
How do I know that my MOLECAT unit has fired?
The Red Ring under the Knob appears after it has been discharged, indicating that the MOLECAT unit has fired and is ready to reload and re-use.
Do I have to handle the pest after it dies?
No. The pest is simply pushed back into the hole by the blast. The body then becomes natural fertilizer for your yard. Another advantage is that the decaying pest becomes an underground deterrent to others who might otherwise take up housekeeping in that run. After the Red Ring appears simply remove the MOLECAT unit and fill in the hole.
Doesn’t the pest smell after being killed and left in the hole?
No. The soil has the ability to conceal any odors. After firing you just fill the hole with the saved dirt mound.
How loud is MOLECAT when it fires?
Upon firing, the unit makes the pop sound of a loud hand clap as the energy and noise from the percussive blast gets channeled down the exit hole. When anchored to the exit hole and covered with a bucket as directed, the soil acts as an effective, natural silencer.
How do I care for my MOLECAT unit?
The occasional cleaning and oiling of the unit will keep it operating effectively and smoothly. See pg. 4 of Instructions covering the ‘Care of Unit’.
Miscellaneous Questions
I live in the State of Washington where it is now illegal to trap. Is MOLECAT legal in my state?
Yes. Initiative 713 makes body-gripping traps illegal in the State of Washington. MOLECAT is not a body gripping trap as it kills by a percussive blast – making it a legal pest control device. The MOLECAT is classified as a Powder Activated Garden Tool by the U.S. Dept. of ATF.
